Media Literacy and Research Methodologies

Despite being an introductory course, Media Literacy and Research Methodologies encouraged me to build and maintain a Personal Learning Network with the purpose of staying current with everything that is happening in my fields of interest. The instructors of this course taught me how to utilize a set of digital tools, including subscriptions via RSS, Twitter Search, LinkedIn Groups, and social bookmarking websites. Therefore, I can now take full advantage of an extensive and ever-growing network of professional resources that allows me to keep up-to-date with news and developments in my industries. Moreover, my Personal Learning Network gives me the opportunity to learn from various industry leaders and network with professionals who have similar interests.
This course also taught me how to develop a sense of responsibility and ethical behavior by providing me with specific details on how to cite sources appropriately. In addition, professors helped me compose eloquent communications by teaching me how to organize my ideas and convey them clearly, focusing on proper grammar, punctuation, consistent format, and professional tone.
